A Modern Classic with a Signature Touch
Our take on the classic single malt style showcases our distinctive approach, focusing on subtle smokiness and layered aromatic notes. While it’s not labelled “peated”, we do use a small amount of smoked (not peated) malt. Rather than overpowering, it adds a delicate layer that gently rounds out the flavour profile. The recipe blends three types of two-row base malt with smoked and specialty malts, resulting in a whiskey that’s rich in character, yet effortlessly smooth and refined.
Authenticity Above All
Unlike our Peated Single Malt, which uses peat-smoked malt imported from Scotland, this whiskey features malt smoked over beechwood—a method more common in brewing. It brings a warmer, milder, and more approachable smokiness to the final flavour. Most of the spirit matures for 48 months in large 190-litre American oak barrels that once held bourbon, while a smaller portion rests in 30-litre Croatian oak casks from the Golub cooperage. This balanced ageing process softens the influence of oak and tannins, allowing the true essence of the raw ingredients to shine.
